![]() Nothing quite like walking a windy beach to watch the sun set to be at peace. I recommend Cambria for a first foray to travel after Covid. ![]() Sea Chest is a trip, you wait in line that starts early and end up talking to a bunch of people you never saw before - fun! Sea Chest is cash only so come prepared! Saw there were additional lights strung around the ceiling and wondered why they weren't on. I'm campaigning to end the powdered artificial creamers in hotels - how can you update your coffee maker, update your coffee and still use that stuff? I was prepared this time and purchased h&h before we came home from dinner that first night.Īs for Dining, We've been to Madelines, (with reserations) and the Sea Chest ( no reservations taken) for dinner Both are very good though in my opinion Madelines was so dark that I had to turn on my phone flashlight to order and sort of missed out on seeing my food. There are few Kings, so once again, get your reservation as soon as you can if you're in need of a King. I've stayed here before, with my husband as well as with a getaway with a dear friend, so know that both types of rooms, Double Queen or Kind are well appointed. Armando, the Front Desk Receptionist helped us find a room that worked, a big thanks to him since it was obvious that the place was almost filled. We were moved from our first location where while very quiet, it was too dark after coming to enjoy Cambria. Make your reservations early as this is a popular beach location, close to water and restaurants, friendly and helpful staff. Remember that due to Covid you do not have housekeeping between days that you stay but you can just go to the office for supplies. We had a very pleasant stay thanks to the friendly desk crew Violet, Julli, and Jonah. The downtown area is a short drive with many shops and restaurants, and there is one within walking distance. We did not get the breakfast delivered as we figured it would be expensive but drove about 20 miles up the coast to Ragged point. You can walk the boardwalk to overlooking the beach for wonderful views. We stayed Friday and Sat night and just enjoyed the quiet. My only caution is that if you are a senior citizen be careful because the tub is a little high to climb in and out of. The room was cozy and had all of the usual amenities including a jet tub in the bathroom. There is a road to cross to get to the ocean but very light traffic. We were given room 127, which had a little patio with two wicker chairs that had a great view of the ocean. ![]() We drove up to Cambria for our anniversary and had booked this place months in advance which was good because it was full. Here's an important thing to note, however: Monster Hunter World is quite well balanced, and so whatever the tier list says pretty much every type of weapon is viable. Patches have changed everything from simple stat tweaks to deeper adjustments to how the basic mechanics of weapons work, but with that said we have some thoughts on what the best weapons are. One thing to keep in mind about any Monster Hunter World weapon tier list is that Capcom do like to adjust the game every now and then. Monster Hunter World Weapon Tier Lists: weapon type ranking lists ![]() Now, let's get in to the weapon tier list and a full explanation of what each weapon class is like. Basically, you need to choose carefully and make an informed decision, both in terms of your weapon class of choice adn then what weapon within that class. Also, Monster Hunter World features a stat called Affinity on every weapon that has a strong influence on how much damage you can do. Weapons can have elemental damage affiliations that'll make them better against some monsters and worse against others. Keep in mind that your choice of weapon in Monster Hunter World will impact a lot. The Sword and Shield will prep you well for becoming a Lance or Gunlance user, for instance. Some will be more about dealing out raw damage while others will be more technical, with the weapons that have a higher barrier to entry on their use naturally being ultimately more rewarding - but we'll get into that a little more later on in this page.Īs a starting point we'd recommend picking one of the weapons we've flagged as being safe for beginners below - and then once you're more confident, you can graduate to something more impressive. In your room in Astera you'll be able to access the weapon training room by speaking to your housekeeper Palico - give each weapon a try and see what feels right. The best thing you can do in the early stages of Monster Hunter World is experiment. Initially, Monster Hunter World will allow you to forge iron or metal versions of every single one of the weapon types, but as you slay monsters and pick up more useful loot you'll be able to turn those drops, rewards and carves into more useful new types of weapon and armor, or upgrade your existing kit. You might want to switch between some of the 14 classes of weapon depending on not just your personal preference but the nature of the monster you're currently hunting or your team make-up when heading into a co-op online hunt - and online co-op is vital for later quests. Keep in mind that there's not as much use in simply sticking with one weapon all the time. There are 14 types of weapon in the game total, and while you'll encounter different versions of each weapon type with various stats and elemental affinities their core features, combos and controls will be shared with other weapons of the same type. Monster Hunter World doesn't feature any all-new types of weapon, but many of its weapons have been tweaked and changed in significant ways when compared to the previous games in the series. If you type the word "attachment" in the text, you'll get a reminder to actually, well, attach it. If that's the case, it can easily be turned off.Īnother feature I really like is the attachment reminder. Some users on the Mozilla discussion boards say that if your folders are very large, global search is annoyingly slow. Results open in a separate tab and give you several useful views of the results. But T-Bird 3 has added global search, and a good set of search filters. Yahoo mail does allow you to create folders, but the interface is cluttered up with ads and tools for chats and IMs, and there's no drop and drag.įolders are very useful, but until now, searching for mail in Thunderbird was awkward since it had to be done one folder at a time. To me, it's a bit confusing and doesn't touch the folder metaphor when it comes to seeing your mail at a glance. I don't understand why Gmail has moved to the label metaphor. Once you've downloaded your mail, T-Bird makes it easy to set up the usual nested folders and move stuff via drag and drop or by using a pull down menu. It's worth noting that you can funnel multiple accounts into Gmail, as well. Mail from all or any of those accounts is downloaded by clicking a "get mail" button and the messages appear in folders dedicated to each account. For example, I use three separate email addresses: one for Yahoo mail, another related to a publication I write for and a third based on my personal domain. Understand that T-Bird lets you set up multiple e-mail accounts. When it comes to giving you the ability to organize and search e-mail, T-Bird really stands out. For some reason, though, e-mails you are composing show up on the usual program button on the bottom of the Windows desktop, but not on a tab. Click on an e-mail in one of your mailboxes and it will open up in a tab, an improvement that it makes it much easier to keep track of what you're doing. The developers have added browser-like tabs to the interface. The next thing you'll notice: Thunderbird looks more like Firefox than ever. That's because it's a pretty svelte bit of code, especially compared to Microsoft's bloated Outlook e-mail program. The first thing you'll notice about T-Bird is how little time it takes to download and install. So if your job requires you to use Exchange, T-Bird isn't for you.Īfter cooking for more than a year, Thunderbird version 3 debuted a few months ago with a host of new features and a better, more streamlined look. Thunderbird supports POP3 and IMAP mail systems, but not Microsoft Exchange. I'm partial to open source software because it benefits from the labor and love of a huge community of developers and users, and it's not the product of a huge corporate monolith whose name begins with "M." While open source software isn't necessarily free, Thunderbird is, and it will run on Windows, Mac or Linux-based PCs.īefore I tell you more about why I think Thunderbird is such a good choice, I should tell you when it isn't. ![]() Thunderbird does pretty much everything and then some that you can do with Yahoo mail or Gmail (with the exception of Google's new Buzz social networking tool) and lets you keep email on your own hard drive and under your own control. The hands-down answer to that question is the latest version of Mozilla Thunderbird, the open source e-mail client brought to you by the same folks who develop and support Mozilla Firefox, the world's number two Web browser. Since that's the case, why not look for the easiest and least costly way to manage that flood of useful-and useless- information? Like it or not, most of us gets dozens, even hundreds, of e-mails a day. In the age of Twitter, SMS and IM is e-mail obsolete? Not yet. |
